Malaga (Spain): Links are being restored between the city centre and the port

The relationship between port and city has changed over time, given space arrangements. Promenades can be used to revitalise the waterfront and reconnect the city with its port. Including promenade routes in port-city projects is both a means of restoring newly reassigned spaces and introducing new visual perspectives of the city and port. Moreover, this new connection with the city can foster the local economy, creating new relations on the port-city interface. The port of Malaga used this approach to remodel old quays and reintegrate the areas with the city.
