Presentation of the AIVP Agenda 2030, a Reference Framework for Sustainable Port Cities

How can we adapt the major challenges of sustainable development to the realities of port cities? To address this question, the AIVP has developed the 2030 Agenda, a guiding framework that translates international ambitions into concrete actions at the city-port level.

An agenda directly inspired by a global framework:
the Sustainable Development Goals

Adopted in 2015 by all United Nations member states, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out a universal roadmap for building a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient world.

17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): A Global Call to Action

The 17 SDGs aim, in particular, to:

  • combat poverty and inequality
  • improve health and education
  • support sustainable economic growth
  • address climate change
  • preserve natural resources

These objectives are based on an integrated approach, in which economic development, social inclusion, and environmental protection are inextricably linked.

Port Cities: A Strategic Position in Globalization

As both major economic hubs and places where people live, they face many contemporary challenges. Particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change—especially in coastal areas—they must also address complex issues:

  • Energy Transition
  • Mobility and Logistics
  • Coexistence of City and Industry
  • Attractiveness and Quality of Life

But they are also hubs of innovation, capable of testing concrete solutions that can be replicated on a large scale.

AIVP has developed the 2030 Agenda to accelerate sustainable transformation

Our goal is clear: to support city and port stakeholders in implementing sustainable, concrete, and measurable projects.

To address these challenges, the AIVP Agenda proposes the following reference framework:

  • 10 strategic objectives addressing the major challenges facing city-port regions
  • 46 Concrete Steps to Turn the "
    " Vision into Action
  • An integrated approach that places the city-port relationship
    and the citizen at the heart of these initiatives

The AIVP 2030 Agenda is thus an operational tool designed to support
regions committed to the transition, aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals, and ensuring consistency with global challenges.
