Based in Quebec City since 2026, AIVP North America is the official representative of AIVP in Canada and the United States. It strengthens ties between port cities, port authorities, and institutional partners in North America, in line with the AIVP’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Port Cities.
Founded by representatives of the Port of Québec and the AIVP, the nonprofit organization AIVP North America received its certificate of incorporation from Corporations Canada on April 3, 2025.
The AIVP's North American office carries out the organization's activities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
It promotes the exchange of knowledge, international cooperation, and the sharing of best practices among port authorities, municipalities, and businesses.
It also helps position Quebec’s maritime ecosystem on the international stage by supporting the energy transition and fostering social acceptance of port areas.
There are 17 AIVP members in North America, and they form the core membership of the North American chapter.
