How can synergies be developed between maritime stakeholders to improve the local economy?
Several practices can help increase the public’s knowledge and involvement with the port. One such practice is establishing a dedicated online platform for the port economy and employment. Providing a centralised hub for job seekers, recruiters, and educational institutions enhances visibility and accessibility to maritime opportunities. Additionally, organising events to facilitate direct engagement between stakeholders can lead to better alignment of business needs with local human resources, supporting the port’s economy. This is demonstrated by the Port of La Rochelle, where a platform fosters collaboration among maritime stakeholders and partners.
