Holder of a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Juliette Cerceau published her thesis in December 2013 on the subject of “industrial ecology as a process for territorial development: application to port spaces”. In the course of her research, she has contributed to important findings on the dynamics of the circular economy and industrial ecology in port territories in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. From those panoramic international studies, she successfully identified territorial models that leverage the driving role of ports in the emergence of these dynamics. She is presently continuing her interdisciplinary action research work as a qualified independent researcher in “Spatial Planning and Urban Development”. She works with research institutes and local stakeholders, providing valuable insights to help identify shared territorial ambitions for partnership-based resource management and renewed territorial governance, supporting the socio-ecological transition in port territories.
