To make the Port Center a forum for dialogue between citizens, the city, and the port, in order to better understand port activities, share best practices, and strengthen port culture on an international scale.
This is a working group focused on sharing best practices related to the integration of ports, cities, and citizens, and on promoting this concept.
It meets annually to discuss the latest innovations in citizen engagement.
Six workshops have already been held: Ashdod in 2014, Dunkirk in 2015, Antwerp in 2016, Le Havre in 2017, Genoa in 2018, and Bilbao in 2019.
Bring together existing initiatives and foster collaboration among Port Centers to strengthen ties among stakeholders engaged in the city-port-citizen dialogue.
To raise the profile of Port Centers and promote their role worldwide by highlighting their activities, their missions, and their contribution to port culture.
Introduce a clearer “City-Port” framework to strengthen collaboration among ports, cities, and regions around shared challenges related to development, attractiveness, and acceptability.
To provide a leading platform for new initiatives, enabling them to draw on successful experiences, best practices, and concrete feedback.
Encourage citizens, the port community, and academia to work more proactively together in order to exchange perspectives and foster innovation in the city-port relationship.
