:Union des Ports de France (UPF) is the professional association of French port operators. Its 45 active members represent France’s 60 major commerce and fishing ports and fish markets, both in metropolitan France and overseas territories. 32 associated members represent Port Professionals and various organisations closely linked to the port sector. UPF has three main roles: - to represent French port organisations in collective bargaining negotiations, in conjunction with the French National Association of Cargo Handling (Steevedoring) Companies (UNIM), and the trade unions, particularly for the supervision of the national collective agreement for Ports and Steevedoring companies, -to defend the French ports’ best interests in all dealings with the French government, French authorities, European bodies and the media, either directly or through ESPO, the European Sea Ports Organisation, - to organize and coordinate commissions and working groups, and share best practices and experiences, in the various port professions.
