{"id":42187,"date":"2022-06-08T14:46:50","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T12:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aivp.org\/aivp-goes-to-chile\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T16:29:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T14:29:41","slug":"aivp-goes-to-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aivp.org\/en\/aivp-goes-to-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"AIVP goes to Chile!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May 2022 has proven a crucial month for the dynamization of the <strong>AIVP network.<\/strong> After the 17th Edition of the World Conference in Tangier, Morocco, gathering almost 350 participants in person and online, AIVP travelled to <strong>Valpara\u00edso in Chile<\/strong> to meet with members, explain the importance of the port-city relationship and highlight Port Centers as the best tools to establish a continuous dialogue with the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Pag\u00e9s S\u00e1nchez,<\/strong> Director of the AIVP Agenda 2030 Projects and Content of our organization participated as speaker in the <strong>7th edition of ENLOCE<\/strong> (Encuentro Internacional de Log\u00edstica &amp; Comercio Exterior) organized by <strong>FISA <\/strong>and <strong>EPV <\/strong>(Empresa Portuaria de Valpara\u00edso \u2013 Port Authority of Valpara\u00edso, AIVP member). The congress counted with the opening words of Chile\u2019s new transport minister, that emphasized the importance of the social integration of the port and the need to establish new dialogue forms, well aligned with AIVP\u2019s mission. Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez presentation was part of the port-city relationship session, that also included presentations by Mr. Fausto Arroyo main executive \u2013 Expert in Logistics, CAF (Banco Desarrollo Am\u00e9rica Latina) and Mr. Franco Gandolfo, General Manager of EPV and President, Foro Log\u00edstico de Valpara\u00edso \u2013 FOLOVAP, and was moderated by Prof. Paola Moraga, from the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Valpara\u00edso. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the visit to Valpara\u00edso, Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez also made an exclusive presentation for the port authority\u2019s staff to explain international examples of good practice for port-city relationship, as well as held several meetings to discuss the future Port Center of Valpara\u00edso with the management of EPV and potential partners. Further on, other activities included meetings with the head of the organization responsible for the UNESCO heritage area and numerous visits to the terminals and the bay to understand the extraordinary complexity of the port-city relationship in this context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The participation in ENLOCE was also an excellent opportunity to highlight with the press the<strong> work Chilean members of AIVP are developing for sustainable port-city relationship, from Valpara\u00edso Dialoga and the ZEAL in Valpara\u00edso, to the Acuerdo Producci\u00f3n Limpia (Clean Production Deals) in San Antonio, to the port-city reconstruction and the \u201cPuerto Educa\u201d (port educates) from Talcahuano.<\/strong> Chilean members have been active very active in AIVP\u2019s network as the recent reelection of the Port of San Antonio for AIVP\u2019s board of directors demonstrates. One the highlights of this trip was also meeting with the members of the management team of this port authority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AIVP expresses its gratitude to the conference organizers and EPV thanks to whom this trip was possible.
