{"id":37547,"date":"2025-07-01T11:40:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T09:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aivp.org\/9th-edition-of-port-center-network-meeting-2\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T16:14:46","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T14:14:46","slug":"9th-edition-of-port-center-network-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aivp.org\/en\/9th-edition-of-port-center-network-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"9th edition of Port Center Network meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On June 24 and 25, AIVP brought together 28 members of the Port Center Working Group in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) for the 9th meeting of the network since its creation in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day one: an immersive day at Portlantis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Participants were welcomed on Tuesday morning at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portofrotterdam.com\/en\/portlantis\">Portlantis<\/a>, the new experience center located in Maasvlakte within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portofrotterdam.com\/en\">Port of Rotterdam.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The morning session introduced the concept and development of Portlantis through presentations by representatives from the Port of Rotterdam, the <a href=\"https:\/\/eic-mainport.nl\/\">EIC Mainport Information Center<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eur.nl\/en\">Erasmus University.<\/a> This first exchange concluded with a guided tour of the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The afternoon discussions focused on the current dynamics of active Port Centers. Representatives from <a href=\"https:\/\/lehavreportcenter.com\/\">Le Havre<\/a> (France), <a href=\"https:\/\/visit.antwerpen.be\/fr\/info\/maison-du-port\">Antwerp<\/a> (Belgium), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livornoportcenter.it\/en\/\">Livorno <\/a>(Italy), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dunkerqueportcenter.fr\/\">Dunkirk <\/a>(France) shared their experiences, highlighting the challenges they have faced throughout their development as well as their perspectives for the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Through a keynote led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/evaboo\/?originalSubdomain=fr\">Eva BOO<\/a>, participants were also able to explore European funding opportunities, particularly through Erasmus+, before discovering the ambitions of new Port Center projects in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marseille-port.fr\/port-center-marseille\">Marseille <\/a>(France), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portdebarcelona.cat\/fr\/node\/240\">Barcelona <\/a>(Spain), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portmaputo.com\/\">Maputo <\/a>(Mozambique).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The day ended with a boat tour of the Maasvlakte, followed by a dinner on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day two: focus on socio-cultural integration of Port Centers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has--font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday, the group gathered at the <a href=\"https:\/\/maritiemmuseum.nl\/en\">Maritime Museum<\/a> for a morning dedicated to synergies between heritage, culture, and port identity.
