After consulting the stakeholders, discussions took place to identify the indicators that would be used for the sectoral plan based on the Global Reporting Initiative Guide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Sectoral Plan is reviewed annually in a report. The 2017 action plan, for example, was defined with the participation of 53 businesses and institutions. The environmental component includes measures to reduce energy and water consumption in the port, cut atmospheric emissions, and reduce effluents and residues, as well as measures to address the impact of transport and prevent environmental risks. <\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">After reviewing previous plans, a new report was published in&nbsp;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portdebarcelona.cat\/memoria2019\/06-developing-environmental-value.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019&nbsp;<\/a>with a series of milestones. One of the commitments is to reduce CO2 emissions by half by 2030 compared to 2017. In 2021, the port released a&nbsp;new strategic plan&nbsp;with its vision for 2040. The proposal includes a section dedicated to environmental sustainability, focusing on energy transition.&nbsp;The first part published is a five-year plan (until 2025) with the vision of becoming the smart logistics hub of the Mediterranean, with one of the objectives being the electrification of 50% of container and ro-ro wharves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">As part of the Sustainable Development Plan, the port publishes the <a href=\"https:\/\/portdebarcelona.cat\/en\/know-port\/port-community\/positive-impact-port\">Positive Impact Port initiative<\/a>.
