In March 2018, Morocco’s National Ports Agency (ANP) signed an agreement with Spanish logistics operator Bergé. As part of their partnership, the two organisations joined their expertise in the area of training and skills development to address the ongoing changes in the transport and logistics industry. Technical visits<\/a> and missions were organised for professionals in ports where Bergé is present. The company has already created the Bergé International Talent programme in conjunction with universities in Korea and Japan<\/a> to cover an even wider field that includes sectors such as maritime, logistics, legal, marketing, automotive, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 1984, ANP has organised training programmes and national and international seminars for port community professionals, through its Port Training Institute<\/a> (IFP) near Casablanca. The programme is updated annually to reflect the needs of professionals and changes in the sector. The topics covered include <\/span>port logistics, port management and regulation, port infrastructure management, port safety and security, and office automation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The training institute cooperates with the academic world and other training organisations (engineering and management schools, merchant navy officer training schools, etc.), as well as with maritime transport and logistics operators. Since its launch, it has formed 16,166 trainees from the port sector and 588 African agents and executives as part of bilateral cooperation between Morocco and African countries.<\/span><\/p>\n
