The design of the new <\/span>Métropole<\/span><\/a><\/span> headquarters in Rouen draws inspiration from the city’s landscape, seamlessly integrating into its historic surroundings of quays and ports. Its striking architectural profile pays homage to the renovated industrial structures on the right bank, with angular shapes reminiscent of nearby cranes and the bows of passing ships. Designed by architect <\/span>Jacques Ferrier,<\/span><\/a><\/span> the new headquarters opened in the summer of 2017 in the heart of a planned eco-district on the south bank of the Seine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The building boasts a stunning exterior adorned with glass panels resembling fish scales, reflecting the changing light of the seasons and the Normandy sky, reminiscent of Impressionist paintings. Its environmentally conscious design incorporates features like passive thermal insulation, solar panels, and operable windows for energy efficiency. Internally, the workspaces are organised for functionality and natural light, with spacious external areas, including patios and a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views. With 8300 m2 of floor space, the building houses offices, conference rooms, and shared spaces across four storeys, showcasing a blend of craftsmanship, artistry, and functionality<\/span><\/p>\n
