The city of Le Port has an ambitious project to link up the old port with the city’s heart. A project named “Mail de l’Océan<\/a>” has been launched to develop an urban boulevard running through the city in a straight line, allowing the different districts to converge on the port at Pointe des Galets to join the sea. In order to keep the local population engaged and informed, various communication initiatives were organised to provide updates and information. Between March 2002 and February 2005, residents, professionals, associations, traders, and others were invited to participate in the project’s development. They shared their thoughts and concerns in participatory workshops. This process helped ensure the project aligned with the community’s desires and addressed their concerns. Moreover, other communication strategies were centred on the principle of visibility. Over the years, campaigns were deployed. These have mainly taken the following forms:<\/p>\n
