The port authority and Fundación Valenciaport officially launched the “Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia”<\/a> project in July 2013. It brings together various partners from Valencia’s port and logistics community around a shared goal: promoting corporate social responsibility. Aportem aims to provide a space for sharing experiences and cooperating on implementing corporate social responsibility, making economic development compatible with social progress and environmental protection. The initiative is targeted at the most vulnerable groups in districts neighbouring the port, particularly boys and girls (educational daycare centres), women and their families. <\/span><\/p>\n

The field of action is wide, encompassing education and culture, health, sport, diet, solidarity, and port tours for the families of Aportem members. These actions include, for example, providing school equipment and sports clothing to local children, organising the “No Plastic” initiative to cut the use of plastics by port companies, eliminating over one million plastic bottles per year, collecting books for a school library, along with musical instruments, and a yearly eye testing campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, the organisation celebrated ten years of activity<\/a> and summarised that during this time, they delivered 20 tons of food, more than 20,000 items of clothing, 60,000 units of school supplies and performed 600 ophthalmological check-ups for minors. They collaborate yearly with 20 organisations, more than 1,000 minors, and hundreds of families in the maritime district of Valencia. The entity’s president, Francisco Prado, highlights that the solidarity initiative brought the city of Valencia closer to the Port.<\/span><\/p>\n
