After the success of the initiative in Newcastle, this pioneering operation will now be implemented in the entire country, through the entity Renew Australia. Renew Newcastle served as an important NGO in the revitalisation projects throughout Australia, specifically in the port of Melbourne. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Renew Newcastle concept demanded the revitalisation of structures that fit the characteristics of the community&rsquo;s context; for this purpose, the Renew team had to be in cooperation with both the public and private sectors. The operation was implemented in Melbourne, and a call for tenders was published in late 2012 and ended in 2016, inviting all interested parties to submit proposals for the temporary occupation of vacant or under-utilised structures around Docklands waterfront Piazza. By repurposing vacant spaces, the waterfront of Melbourne hosted creative opportunities to support local businesses and engage with the general public. The initiative, named &ldquo;<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.renewaustralia.org\/case-study\/docklands-spaces\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Docklands Spaces<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&rdquo;, has been administered by the City of Melbourne, MAB Corporation, and Places Victoria.
