Interview with Sara Millot, director of the film Dockville
For several months, a camera followed the workers of the commercial port of Sète, focusing on their gestures, their rhythms, but also their stories and their culture. The history of the port area is intimately linked to that of the men who bring it to life and who embody this original link with the city. By staying close to the quays, Dockville takes the opportunity to listen to the people who inhabit this unique space, suspended between land and sea. From the top of the cranes, the edges of the slipways, the sheds and the fridges, this is a film about the deep-rooted attachment of port workers to their land.
