The AIVP is part of the ESPO Award Jury

The ESPO award convened the shortlisted projects and the Jury in Brussels (Belgium) on November 6th to choose the winner. This edition’s theme was “Port projects or strategies in the field of circular economy that benefit the city and/or the surrounding community”. The finalists were the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium), Port of Gothenburg (Sweden), Port of Huelva (Spain) and Port of Sevilla (Spain). The AIVP, represented by Caya Hein, Project Leader – Green Transition & Agenda 2030 by AIVP, partook as a member of the Jury. The other jury members were Eamonn Oreilly (Chairman of the jury), Knut Fleckenstein, Elvira Haezendonck, Marta Moretti, Victor Schoenmakers, David Whitehead, and Annaleena Makila.

Connected River project: Consortium Group Meeting in Antwerp

The various partners in the Connected River project gathered for the mid-term event in Antwerp (Belgium). During a round table discussion and the Connection and Reflection session, AIVP was able to contribute its expertise and experience.

AIVP attends Connecting Europe Days in Brussels

As leader of the working group for dissemination of the European MAGPIE project, AIVP ran a stand and took part in talks on connectivity and sustainable development in Europe. AIVP is passionate about global city-port cooperation and was honoured to be able to share its expertise at the event. Our association aims to help build a more inclusive and interconnected future for the world’s port cities, through productive dialogue and constructive discussions.

The Connection and Reflection Group, a think tank created as part of the European Connected River project, met for the first time in Brussels (Belgium) on 28 November. It is chaired by Carola Hein, professor at TU Delft (Netherlands).

Port Autonome du Centre et de l’Ouest, a port committed to sustainable transportation

Port Autonome du Centre et de l'Ouest is one of the biggest ports in Wallonia. Divided into three zones (Hainaut Occidental, Mons Borinage, and Centre), the port has for some years been working closely with the local authorities in its region, on projects to promote low-carbon transportation (Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda).
