The partners of the Connected River project met in Lille (France) from 12 to 14 September. The European project aims to tackle issues related to sharing waterways in river cities across northern Europe. It was launched in March 2023. After previously meeting in Hamburg (Germany) and Amsterdam (the Netherlands), the partners came together once more, this time in northern France.
Over the course of three days, the participants followed masterclasses and took part in workshops demonstrating how to run pilot schemes. They also met with local stakeholders in the project ecosystem led by Ports de Lille. Some of the workshops took place outdoors on the Deûle river or its banks, and one – led by the AIVP – explored ways of promoting synergies between the different partners. The AIVP’s role in this project is focused on knowledge sharing, analysis, and helping the partners find solutions.
