Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port is about to join the AIVP Port Center network. On 20 January 2025, Bruno DELSALLE – Managing Director of AIVP and Laureen GOLETTO – Project Manager, took part in discussions with the management committee.
As you will recall, a Port Centre is a mediation tool. It is specific to each area and adapts to local goals. The aim is to unite all the stakeholders around a common project, to enable them to understand and raise awareness of the challenges of port resilience. During these discussions, the management committee confirmed its interest in the project and its desire to promote port activities and professions, while at the same time opening up to the public. Like other Port Centres, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port Centre will be unique in terms of both its governance and its programming, and will aim to create a link of trust with local residents and the port community. The Port Center concept was particularly appealing because of its ability to address transversal issues, making it easier to understand local issues and the port’s strategy. To bring this project to success, a dedicated working group will meet on a regular basis until the Port Center is completed.
