The AIVP

The International Association of Cities and Ports (AIVP) was created in 1988. Its head office is in Le Havre (Normandy, France). It brings together public and private legal entities involved in the development of port cities, divided into three categories: port authorities, local authorities, and private or public companies. It supports its members in implementing new strategies to enable them to better cope with the changes impacting the economic, social, and environmental development of port cities.
AIVP has 190 members in around a hundred port cities in nearly 50 countries.

The Association’s activities are based on three pillars:

  • running the network and providing services to members,
  • managing international projects and sharing experience,

The AIVP team works daily in three official languages: French, English and Spanish.
