From April 24th to May 6th, a group composed of four experts and a member of the permanent team are visiting the port cities of the Indian Ocean.
Their mission aims to deepen the territorial diagnosis they realized remotely at the end of 2021, for the benefit of the Port Association of Indian Ocean Islands (PAIOI) and with the support of the French Development Agency (FDA). They will visit four major ports of the sub-region : port of Moroni (Comoroes), Port Réunion (La Réunion, France), Port Louis (Mauritius) and Port of Victoria (Seychelles). Local authorities will also be solicited, in line with the “city-port” approach defended by AIVP: the Municipality of Moroni, the Reunion Region, the Territoire de la Côte Ouest agglomeration community, the City of Le Port, the Municipality of Port-Louis or the Municipality of Victoria are included in the program of this delegation. Finally, this mission will allow the group to identify proposals for actions that will be included in a roadmap for the greening of Indian Ocean ports.
AIVP’s “Indian Ocean Group” brings together 21 members in 9 different countries. His last seminar itself was held in 2018 in Reunion. The Indian Ocean Group’s activity was relaunched in 2021 thanks to the partnership signed with AFD.
