Port Cities are at the forefront of global pressing issues, such as the rising sea levels, the decarbonization of maritime transport and urban areas, and the protection of the oceans. The UN Ocean Conference, which will take place in 2025 in Nice, or the yearly COPs from the UNFCCC are key moments to accelerate policies and foster cooperation. Port City actors are expanding their roles to answer these challenges. How are they promoting innovative solutions in the port city territories? And what are their expectations for these global events led by the UN? What are the demands?
These questions will be discussed during the webinar on the 4th of September (16:00 CEST (Paris) – 15:00 WEST (Lisbon) – 10:00 EDT (Quebec)). It will explore innovative projects launched by the Port of Lisbon and other AIVP members and launch the first discussions for the creation of a declaration gathering the expectations of port city actors on global issues. Speakers include Mario Girard, Vice President of AIVP and CEO of Port of Quebec, Isabel Moura Ramos, Executive Board Member of Port of Lisbon, and AIVP staff Bruno Delsalle and José Manuel Pages Sanchez. The webinar will also provide a first glance at the AIVP’s World Conference, which will take place from the 27th to the 29th of November in Lisbon, Portugal.
