AIVP, the Worldwide Network of Port Cities, and MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on April 21st to strength the cooperation between both organizations for sustainable port cities and cruises.
Cruises are an important activity for many port cities, it is necessary to find a balance that also protects the local citizens. The new agreement will allow AIVP and Medcruise to work together to share knowledge and research solutions that protect the environment and valorise our culture and our society. Both international organizations have complementary capacities, that will facilitate a fruitful cooperation. In the future, AIVP and Medcruise will team up in events, projects and publications that will help their members in their quest for sustainable development. In the coming months we will see the first results of this MoU and improved collaboration.

About MedCruise: The Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports
The mission of MedCruise is to promote the cruise industry in the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas. The Association assists its members in benefiting from the growth of the cruise industry by providing networking, promotional, as well as professional development opportunities.
Established in Rome on the 11th of June 1996, by a collaborative agreement between 16 ports in seven different countries, the MedCruise membership spreads today in 21 countries, and is located in three different continents, Africa, Asia and Europe. MedCruise represents more than 140 ports and 34 associate members.
