Enrico Musso (born in Genoa in 1962) is a Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Genoa 3, and has previously been a Visiting Professor at several higher educational establishments in Italy and abroad, including Cambridge, Nice, Antwerp, Roma La Sapienza, and Sassari.
Author of around 200 articles and reports, he specialises in transport, infrastructures, and territorial competitiveness. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Transport Economics. A former President of the Italian Society of Transport Economics, he is presently Co-President of the Maritime Transport & Ports Group of the World Conference on Transport Research Society. He also served as a senator in the Italian parliament from 2008 to 2013, in which capacity he sat on the Public Works, Telecoms and Transport Committee.
In 2014, Enrico Musso was appointed Director of the Centro di eccellenza sulla logistica integrata (Centre for Excellence in Integrated Logistics) founded in 2003 by the Ministry of Research, and attached to the University of Genoa. The Centre promotes research and higher education in the logistics and transport sectors, participating in national and international projects created by the Italian Government, the EU Commission, international organisations and public institutions.
