Coastal cities and regions are at the forefront of climate change. Faced with more intense climatic events (erosion, submersion, flooding, storms, extreme precipitation, drought…), they must adapt urgently and sustainably.
Acknowledging the need to find solutions to adapt these territories and collectively confront this crisis head-on, the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) will dedicate a Summit to coastal cities and regions, and island States, on 7 June, 2025, in Nice, France.
Bringing together mayors and governors of coastal cities and regions worldwide, along with representatives of island States, and key stakeholders driving adaptation efforts, this Summit will mark the launch of the Ocean Rise & Coastal Resilience Coalition for cities and regions.
