:The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest sea port. The port owes its leading position to its outstanding accessibility for sea-going vessels. And to its intermodal connections and the 180,000 people working in and for Rotterdam’s port and industrial area. A place where unlimited ambitions can become reality. The objective of the Port of Rotterdam Authority is to enhance the port’s competitive position as a logistics hub and world-class industrial complex. Not only in terms of size, but also with regard to quality. The Port Authority is therefore leading the transition to sustainable energy and it is committed to digitalisation in order to make the port, and the supply chain, more efficient. The core tasks of the Port Authority are to develop, manage and exploit the port in a sustainable way and to deliver speedy and safe services for shipping. The Port Authority is a public corporation (N.V.) with two shareholders: the municipality of Rotterdam (70%) and the Dutch State (30%). The Port Authority aims to attract companies which can strengthen the port and industrial area. The main focus here is on container handling, the (bio) chemical industry and energy production. In order to achieve the mission, the Port of Rotterdam Authority concentrates on four core activities: client management, traffic management, area and environment management and stakeholder management. As Area Manager, the Port Authority is owner of all land in the Port, which is used as efficiently as possible, with an adequate public and sustainable infrastructure. Our mission: the Port of Rotterdam Authority creates economic and social value by working with customers and stakeholders to achieve sustainable growth in the world-class port.
